A change of heart
Reflections can be very telling and are uniquely individual. They show things as they are.
We are drawn here to reflect upon how we are known by others. Outwardly, our faces give recognition and instant identity. Inwardly, the heart shows our personality, our inner core, giving us a deeper identity. Luke 6:45 "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks" meaning that our thoughts, desires, actions and attitudes come from within us – good or bad.
Israel’s King David is described as a man after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22). Despite much sin in his life, he loved God. He asked the Lord to create within him a new heart and a renewed spirit (Psalm 51:10), to give him a change of heart because he knew his life was not as God would have it be.
