Thought of the Month
It’s so lovely to receive gifts, especially really special gifts. Most of us at some point will have been given gifts we could not have purchased for ourselves – or even special gifts we didn’t know we needed! This verse is taken from the New Testament, it is written by a man named Paul, who had his entire life changed because he decided to believe in the Lord Jesus.
At first glance this verse can appear quite confusing. But it couldn’t be simpler, Jesus died on the cross, He paid the punishment for all the bad things that we have done and will continue to do. Then He rose again after 3 days, and because of this we can have eternal life in Him.
This is the gift from God! All we must do to receive this gift is believe that Jesus died for us and say we’re sorry for all the things we do wrong. This verse is an encouragement to us that the Lord has offered everyone the gift of eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
