Verse of the Month

He brought me to the banqueting house, and His banner over me was love.

Thought of the Month

This month’s verse is from a poetic part of the Bible. A bride was looking forward to

marrying her husband, a rich king. In addition to the wealth of things to be enjoyed in

his banqueting house, she rejoiced in the great love he had shown to her.

The verse can also be seen as a picture of how a loving God wants a relationship

with each of us. Our wrong separates us from Him but in amazing love He has

provided a way so we can enjoy His presence. Jesus Christ died and rose again so

that all who turn from their sin and trust Him as Saviour can be forgiven and become

part of His family.

Like a large feast, many blessings come from this new life close to God. But best of

all - written like a banner over everything - is the confidence of being loved by God.
