Verse of the Month

Jesus said “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you, not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid”

Thought of the Month

Jesus contrasts His peace with the world’s peace by pointing to its source and its effect. The world’s peace is always temporary, built on changing circumstances - success, safety, or the absence of conflict. It depends on what’s happening around us, so it rises and falls with situations we cannot control.

Jesus’ peace is different. It comes from His presence, His victory over sin and death, and the assurance that God is in control. This peace can exist in the middle of storms, not just when storms are absent. It steadies the heart, calms fears, and brings confidence that God is working for our good. While the world offers comfort that can be taken away, Jesus offers an eternal, inward peace that remains. His peace doesn’t remove trouble - it strengthens us to walk through it with hope.
