Thought of the Month
This verse speaks about the most remarkable change that could happen in someone’s life. It tells us that when someone is “in Christ” (when they put their trust in Jesus and belong to Him) something truly new begins. This change is not just about having the right behaviour, doing the right thing or simply attending church. It is a deep, inward transformation through faith.
To be a “new creation” means that God gives us a fresh start. Our past failures, regrets, guilt and sin no longer define us. They have been dealt with through Jesus’ death and resurrection, which he went through for you and for me. The “old” life, shaped by separation from God, has passed away. In its place, God brings new life, hope, a relationship with Him and eternal life.
This is good news for us all. No one is too broken or too far gone to be made new. In Jesus Christ, God offers forgiveness, salvation and a completely new beginning to anyone who believes. Do you?
